Associate Professor in Structural Engineering and Materials
- ENVE5402 Finite Elements in Field Problems
- CIVE5708 Finite Elements in Field Problems
- ECOR1101 Mechanics I
- CIVE4908 Design Project
Research Interests
- Computational Material Science: multiscale and multiphysics modelling, continuum (FEM, BEM and hybrid approaches) and ab initio (MD, DFT) techniques.
- Corrosion science and electrochemistry, corrosion of steel in concrete, nondestructive detection and measurement of corrosion in concrete structures (bridges, etc.), microbially induced corrosion (MIC), electrochemical methods (e.g. electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical noise).
- Coatings for civil (e.g. oil and gas pipelines, water/wastewater distribution systems) and environmental (e.g. thermophillic wastewater digestors, pulp/paper industry) engineering applications. The use of EIS for the determination of the performance of coatings.
- Flow in porous media in extreme conditions (e.g. extreme temperature gradients and/or biological/microbial activities), advection-diffusion-reaction problems.
