Professor Kohsaka gives special lecture on global financial crisis and Asia-Pacific financial linkages

Professor Akira Kohsaka of Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan gave a special lecture at Carleton on Wednesday, November 2. The lecture was on “The Global Financial Crisis and Financial Linkages in the Asia-Pacific Region” and was co-sponsored by the Department and the CMFE together with the Embassy of Japan in Canada. CMFE Co-Director Steve Ferris served ably as Master of Ceremonies and noted Japan expert Professor Jacob Kovalio of the Department of History gave an informative and warm introduction of Professor Kohsaka. The lecture was followed by a lively question and answer session moderated by Professor Ferris and involving more than a half dozen of the eighty-plus attendees. A generous wine and cheese reception courtesy of the Embassy of Japan concluded the evening.
