Research
Numerical and experimental studies of fluid flows. Current projects focus on: instability and transition of wall-bounded and free shear layers; transition control in separation bubbles; lobed mixers with three-dimensional inflow velocity fields; a low-head hydroelectric power-generation unit for tidal-current and river applications with improved power-to-size ratio; an intra-aortic balloon pump with improved control over the affects of the pump on the cardiovascular flow during diastole and systole.
