Visiting ALDS scholar arriving this Fall

SLaLS is extremely excited to welcome Dr. Ruth Wodak, Distinguished Professor of Discourse Studies at Lancaster University (UK), as a visiting scholar this fall.  Widely published in the field, Dr. Wodak’s interests lie in the use of critical discourse analysis to explore the construction of identity, discrimination, and (trans)nationalism in political and media discourse.

Don’t miss her four-session workshop on the discourse of inclusion and exclusion offered as part of ALDS 5905 Section F, a special topic course in Language and Identity taught by Dr. Guillaume Gentil.
